Normandy

My dad and I stayed in Bayeux in Normandy. This was the part of our trip to explore WWII history. Bayeux was such a lovely town. We were there in April and it did not seem overrun with tourists. We enjoyed the farmers market day, the boulangeries, and dining out.

We had rented a car in Caen and had access to driving around ourselves. My dad wanted to drive around Normandy and think about the areas my grandpa had been during WWII. Walking through Bayeux one day we popped into a tourist center and decided to do Normandy beaches WWII tour. I’m not usually one for tours but this was great, all decision making and driving was done for us. On the day we went to Omaha Beach it was cold and rainy, which the guide explained the weather was similar on D-day.
